○ 04: Maybe they once locked eyes.

[AUDIO: There's a short pause before Eddie speaks.]

I have a favor to ask. I'm trying to help my warden understand a more modern approach to romance. What I need is a woman, between the ages of twenty-four and thirty-two.. thirty-three, who would be willing to take him out on a date. Maybe a private dinner, drinks afterward, and a starry walk in the CES or something. He'll know up front what this is; this isn't some trick and he won't be expecting to fall in love or anything.

I don't have anything specific to offer as a thanks, but I'm pretty resourceful if there's something specific you're looking for. I'm not providing any weapons and I reserve the right to refuse anyone for any reason.. because even knowing what's going on, he's still a nice guy and I don't want to mess with him. I'm really just looking to help him out.

Oh, it's George Crabtree. Some of you might know him.

[Private to George]
I want to know more about your time. Are there any books, fiction or non-, that you can recommend? I'm a pretty fast reader.

[ Private - Video ] HIS CHARM SEDUCED HER. Clearly.

Did you do a lot of fighting zombies? [It's not sarcastic, but a sincere question. He's already friends with Buffy.]

My name's Edward Spinola. Most people call me Eddie, but I understand there's a few Eddie's around here, so I won't hold it against you if you want to give me a new nickname. Why don't I come by your cabin later tonight and we can look at what you have available for a wardrobe and talk about what you two could do together? That way, I'm taking up even more of your time. Hell, if things go badly with George? I'll take you on a date myself.

[ Private - Video ] HIS CHARM SEDUCED ME. SHE IS STILL SO BAAAAAAAAW.

Yeah. Run-of-the-mill apocalypse stuff.

That sounds fine. It's level one, cabin nine, and I'll be here all day. I don't have too much in the way of feminine wardrobe, but I do know a lot of women on the Barge that I could borrow from if we need to.

Where are you from, Eddie? I'm not acquainted with any of the other Eddies, so you can keep your name.

I'm doing this purely as a distraction, to be honest. George is goofy and sweet -- I think the difference in culture and time between us will be good for him. On a surface level, I'm happy to deliver him a good time, but I'm not actually putting myself out there. I just got dumped a few days ago via the equivalent of text messaging.

[ Private - Video] It's good for her. xD Rex has certainly done his share, keke. (log/spam/assume?)

Do you own any dresses? If not, do you think you would be able to borrow some before I come see you tonight? I think it might be a little less jarring to his sensibilities than a lot of the other stuff the women wear from my time. I'm not sure about your time, so it's hard to say. Maybe you can tell me the story tonight, about that run-of-the-mill apocalypse.

I'm from New York City, 2011. It was a bustling city with no aliens, super powers, time traveling, apocalypse, vampires, possessed ventriloquist dummies, or anything else of a supernatural or abnormal nature. She was a beautiful city once I began to see her and her possibilities were limitless.

I apologize on behalf of all men. Some guys are assholes or too shy to know how to deal with a woman who's not completely passive. We're not all like that.

[ Private - Video] Hahaha! It's true! THIS'LL BE GOOD FOR HER! How about I make a log?

[identity profile] wichita-kansas.livejournal.com 2011-06-27 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I have uh. Can you hold on for a second?

[She doesn't wait for his reply -- she begins rummaging through her things and pulls out a blue top and a black pencil skirt.]

I have this ensemble -- come over and take a look? If not, I'll ask for a few things from some of my friends around here. I've never seen 2011, but I got to 2009. Never been to New York, either. Sounds like you're a little bit in love with it.

I have my doubts. I'll see you after dinner, all right?

[OOC: We can put the preparation and date in the same log if George's keeper is cool with it! Also, the outfit she holds up is from the conning flashback in Zombieland, but I don't have a screenshot at the mo'. It's in the icon, too!]

[Private - Video] pre-mature enter. >>

That might give him a heart attack. [Eddie laughs just the same, because it's still a nice outfit.]

2011's a lot like 2009, only more of the same. People are greedier, louder, sexier, and everyone's trying to get what they can while they're young enough to get it. New York seems to be the center of that. I had a hard time with it while I was a writer, but it was pretty good to me once I branched out a little.

I look forward to it.

derp.

Also, yeah, that would be great if you could throw up a log for Eddie/Wichita at least. I'll PM Bear about it too. Did you want to do it before the flood, during, or after though?
